Reference

Every endpoint, with the parameters it takes. Each one is also an MCP tool of the same name.

REST

Send Authorization: Bearer <your key> with every request. Responses are JSON.

MCP tools

Connect an MCP client to https://mcp.fundersindex.com/mcp. The tools are list_towns, get_town, list_organizations, get_organization, list_organization_funders, list_funders, get_funder, list_funder_recipients, list_gifts, list_causes, search.

Claude Code plugin

  1. Set FUNDERS_INDEX_KEY to your club's key and FUNDERS_INDEX_URL to the service address, with no trailing slash.
  2. Run /plugin marketplace add with the repository address the district gave you.
  3. Run /plugin install funders-index.

Endpoints

list_towns

List towns. REST: GET /api/v1/towns. Returns a page of results; pass the cursor from one response to get the next.

No parameters.

get_town

Get a town (totals count all money into the town; anchor institutions are large organizations assigned to the town, so their amounts can exceed a single town total). REST: GET /api/v1/towns/:slug.

get_organization

Get an organization (funders counts every funder in all years; recent is the latest single year only; by_year breaks the total down per year). REST: GET /api/v1/organizations/:key.

Get a funder. REST: GET /api/v1/funders/:key.

list_funder_recipients

List a funder's recipients (total_received on each row is the amount from THIS funder, not the recipient's overall total). REST: GET /api/v1/funders/:key/recipients. Returns a page of results; pass the cursor from one response to get the next.
